AlphaBeta Converter converts planar and linear structural data, measured in oriented drillholes as alpha - beta - gamma angles to dip - dip direction (or strike) and plunge - trend angles. Simply input the plunge - trend of the core axis, the alpha - beta angles and press Convert!
This app is the perfect field tool for structural geologists and consultants alike for converting the orientation of any planar or linear feature (e.g. bedding, foliation, fault, stretching lineation, slickenline).
The app splashscreen and in-app Help remind the user how to measure alpha - beta - gamma angles.
Supports dip direction/strike conversion, bottom/top reference line, and downward/upward core axis!
